Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Exadata DBA/Architect to own, manage and optimize Oracle Exadata environments in Azure Cloud. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle Exadata features, performance tuning, high availability, and cloud-native integration, with a strong background in production DBA activities and architecture design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, deployment, and administration of Oracle Exadata systems in Azure Cloud.
- Perform production DBA tasks including backup/recovery, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.
- Architect and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions using Exadata features.
- Optimize IORM, Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, and other Exadata-specific capabilities.
- Integrate Exadata with Azure-native services (e.g., Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Security Center).
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL Tuning tools.
- Ensure security and compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior DBAs and support teams.
- Participate in capacity planning, cost optimization, and cloud migration strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with at least 3+ years on Oracle Exadata.
- Proven experience managing Oracle Exadata in Azure Cloud (Exadata Cl**d@Cu*****r or Exadata on Azure).
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, Golden Gate.
- Hands-on experience with Exadata features: Smart Scan, Storage Indexes, Flash Cache, IORM.
- Hands-on experience with on-prem to cloud database migration and integration across multiple systems.
- Experience with cloud automation using Terraform, Ansible, or Azure CLI is a plus.
- Experience with Azure networking, storage, monitoring and security concepts.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Exadata Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of ADF, Databricks, Azure Services, SAS, Snowflake and Power BI will be a plus.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
