Job Description
About Position:
The API Hub Proxy Product Owner is responsible for maximising the value of the API Hub platform by acting as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team. This role ensures that business objectives are translated into actionable product requirements, the product backlog is effectively managed, and the API Hub evolves in alignment with organisational strategy. The Proxy Product Owner supports the Product Manager in defining and communicating the product vision, while facilitating day-to-day product decisions and ensuring smooth delivery of platform enhancements.

What You'll Do:
- 10+ proven experience as a Product Owner, Proxy Product Owner, or similar role in API management platform environments.
- Strong experience in managing product backlogs, refining features, creating user stories, and prioritising requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with Open API, Async protocols
- Proven experience working in agile teams, preferably under SAFe or other scaled agile frameworks Proven experience in people management
- Experience working with remote geographically disbursed teams preferred.
- Soft skills: Autonomous, analytical skills, rigorous, methodical, persuasive, dynamic, leadership skills, work under pressure, results-oriented. Strong leadership interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage, motivate & engage teams and interact with people at all levels of the organization
Expertise You'll Bring:
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear communication of API Hub platform requirements and priorities.
- Gather, clarify, and document product requirements and user stories, translating business needs into actionable tasks for the technical team.
- Gather API Hub platform user feedback to guide product updates. Backlog & Delivery Management
- Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it reflects both strategic objectives and day-to-day realities.
- Support the Scrum Master in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, and provide regular updates on PI (Planning Interval) status, risks, and issues.
- Serve as the go-to person for requirement clarification and backlog management, enabling the team to progress without delays.
- Product Vision & Strategy Support the Product Manager in defining and communicating the product vision, and ensure development aligns with this vision.
- Escalate strategic decisions and major scope changes to the Product Manager as needed, while making tactical decisions within agreed parameters.
- Own and maintain the list of APIs published in the API catalogue. Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure the quality and accessibility of API documentation for internal teams and partners. Champion best practices in API Management platform product ownership and contribute to the continuous improvement of the API Hub platform.
