Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our international Taxation team as Trainees. This role provides hands-on exposure to international taxation processes, tax compliance, and return preparation. Trainees will also learn the fundamentals of tax review processes to support senior associates and reviewers in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality of deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of tax of state and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
- Collect, organize, and analyse financial data required for tax computations.
- Ensure accuracy of tax workpapers and supporting schedules.
- Research basic tax issues and updates.
- Perform first-level self-review of tax returns and workpapers before submission to seniors/reviewers.
- Cross-check input data against source documents for accuracy.
- Assist reviewers by highlighting discrepancies, unusual items, or potential red flags in returns.
- Document review notes and ensure timely resolution of reviewer comments.
- Support in quality control checks to maintain compliance with firm standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors / Masters degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of taxation concepts preferred.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to work under supervision, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
