Job Description
Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in the Calypso platform to join our investment banking technology team. The role involves designing, developing, and enhancing systems related to trade lifecycle, risk management, and settlements . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Calypso customization and upgrades (preferably version 16) , deep Java expertise, and the ability to deliver robust, scalable solutions in a fast-paced financial environment.

Mode of Work : Full time -hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Calypso-based applications supporting trading, risk, and settlement functions.
- Work on Calypso platform upgrades, enhancements, and customizations, with specific experience on Calypso v16 preferred.
- Develop and implement solutions using Java EE and Spring Framework to meet complex business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and operations to understand requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
- Optimize existing Calypso workflows, APIs, and integrations for performance and stability.
- Work with database technologies design schemas, write complex SQL queries, and create stored procedures.
- Support and maintain batch processes and interfaces using Unix shell or scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python).
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure timely resolution.
- Document technical specifications, design decisions, and deployment processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 510 years of experience in Java development, including enterprise-grade systems.
- Hands-on experience with Calypso platform development, customization, and version upgrades (v16 preferred).
- Strong programming skills in Java EE, Spring Framework, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in database design, SQL development, and stored procedure creation.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and batch scripting (Shell, Perl, or Python).
- Sound understanding of software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and SDLC methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of financial instruments, trade lifecycle, and investment banking systems .
Good to have skills:
- Experience with Calypso APIs, DataMart, or custom adapters.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools, Maven, Jenkins, or Git.
