Vmc Programmer @ SD Industries

Job Description

1. CNC Programming (VMC)

• Develop and write CNC programs using CAM software or manual G-code programming.

• Generate tool paths, optimize cutting parameters, and ensure precision and efficient machining.

• Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T requirements for accurate programming.

• Verify programs through simulation and trial runs.

2. Machine Setup & Operation

• Set up VMC machines, fixtures, jigs, and tooling as per job requirements.

• Select and install cutting tools, tool holders, and workholding devices.

• Set tool offsets, work offsets and machine parameters.

• Run prototypes and first-off pieces to validate programs.

3. Process Optimization

• Analyze machining operations to reduce cycle time and improve productivity.

• Recommend improvements for tooling, cutting parameters, and fixture design.

• Troubleshoot program or machining issues and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain tool life data and improve overall machining efficiency.

4. Quality Control & Inspection

• Inspect components using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM basics).

• Ensure dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and tolerance compliance.

• Work closely with the quality team to resolve non-conformities.

5. Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain CNC program library, setup sheets, and tool lists.

• Prepare and update process sheets for production.

• Coordinate with design, production and QA teams for smooth workflow.

• Maintain records of revisions and program updates.
