Role & responsibilities
The Central SCM Cost Manager is responsible for controlling, analyzing, and optimizing all cost elements across the end-to-end Mother Hub supply chain including MH wise fix cost ( rental, opex, capex, variable cost ( manpower cost) and logistics cost. This role ensures financial discipline, cost transparency, and continuous cost efficiency within the SCM function, aligning with the companys profitability and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management & Analysis
Own end-to-end cost visibility across warehousing, transportation of all type of warehouses ( FLCG , F&V and cold warehouse supply chain ) Track, monitor, and analyze monthly supply chain costs and variances against budget and forecast. Develop cost dashboards and analytical models for real-time cost performance tracking. Identify cost leakages, inefficiencies, and areas for productivity improvement.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for SCM cost centers. Partner with regional and functional SCM teams to align cost budgets with operational plans. Provide scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to support decision-making.
3. Cost Optimization & Projects
Drive strategic cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives (e.g., route optimization, warehouse network redesign, vendor negotiations). Support make-vs-buy analysis, contract cost benchmarking, and logistics sourcing decisions. Collaborate with operations, procurement, and finance to ensure cost accountability across the supply chain.
4. Reporting & Governance
Publish monthly SCM cost performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations. Maintain governance over cost classification, allocation, and reporting structures. 5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Logistics, and Ops teams to align on total monthly operational cost and overall supply chain profitability. Support business cases for new initiatives, network changes, and capital investments. Participate in strategic planning sessions to align cost goals with service and quality targets. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Total SCM cost, Cost per Unit, Cost per Order Cost savings achieved vs. target Forecast accuracy (budget vs. actual variance) Warehouse cost per order / per unit Vendor cost compliance and savings realised
