Job Summary:
GEPL Capital is seeking a Mutual Fund Analyst to join our research and advisory team in Colaba, Mumbai. The ideal candidate will analyse mutual fund performance, monitor new fund offers, rank funds across various categories, and provide actionable insights to support investment decisions. This role also involves engaging with AMCs, fund managers, and investors to ensure updated market intelligence and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research & Analysis
- Analyse mutual fund performance data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Track inflows and outflows (Whats In & Out) based on data.
- Evaluate and rank mutual funds by category and segment.
- Maintain monthly fund trackers for both lump sum and SIP investments.
2. New Fund Offers (NFOs)
- Analyse new mutual fund offers and assess their investment potential.
- Prepare one-pagers summarizing key aspects and share with the team for review.
3. Fund Ranking
- Conduct regular ranking of mutual funds:
- Debt Funds: Monthly
- Hybrid Funds: Quarterly
- Equity Funds: Quarterly
4. Portfolio Review
- Review and analyse investor mutual fund portfolios and suggest modifications.
- Interact with investors as needed for portfolio discussions.
- Complete reviews of top 200 investor portfolios within a two-month timeframe; smaller portfolios to follow thereafter.
5. AMC & Fund Manager Engagement
- Build rapport with AMC Relationship Managers to stay updated on product developments (weekly).
- Meet AMC product teams monthly to understand product suitability for different investors.
- Meet fund managers quarterly to gain insights on fund strategies and performance outlooks.
6. Investor Communication & Awareness
- Conduct webinars and seminars for product awareness and promotion:
- Department Sessions: Weekly
- GEPL Staff Sessions: Monthly
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with investors for scheme or product updates.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- NISM certification (Mutual Fund/Research Analyst) preferred.
- 25 years of experience in mutual fund research, investment analysis, or wealth management.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
