Job Description (Job Summary/Roles & Responsibilities)
As a Solutions Engineer You will have operated in an Infrastructure Architecture capacity, be highly experienced with public cloud technologies, and have broad knowledge across multiple pillars including Hosting, Networks, Public & Private Cloud, Storage, Identity etc. You will have experience in producing infrastructure designs to support application deployments. Your location isnt as important to us as the timezone that you working in. This role will need to be aligned with (at least half of) the US working day.
Act as the primary Solution Design / Infrastructure Architect point of contact for migrations from on premise to public cloud.
- Review detailed solution designs for applications migrating from on premise to public cloud, ensuring they meet application requirements, are accurate and risks are identified and addressed
- Lead meetings with application owners for reviews of vendor produced designs.
- Understand the impact of design decisions on the total cost of ownership.
- Detailed understanding of multi-tiered architecture
- Provide detailed solution designs that are in line with our technology and security standards
- Co-ordinate with other teams to ensure information going into designs is accurate and complete.
- Ensure that all designs are secure by design and see these through the relevant security approvals.
- Engage with other teams to ensure any identified design issues are remediated accordingly
- Keep stakeholders informed and manage expectations.
- Ensure the quality of all designs that are going in for review in order for the review process to run smoothly with minimal interventions.
Must Have & Desired Skills:
- With 10+ Years experience
- You will be regarded as an expert in your field, keeping your knowledge up to date with changes in the industry and advising other Solutions Engineers, accordingly, ensuring t always leveraging the most effective technologies.
- Strong communication & stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience authoring low-level, detailed designs from conceptualization to delivery.
- Ability to create / design infrastructure for application deployments.
- Own and enforce a consistent approach to infrastructure solution design within the domain.
- Own and author / assure cross-domain solution designs and supporting documentation, independently and with minimal oversight.
- Design and operational experience with AWS is essential with Azure an advantage.
- Provide technical / solution oversight during the development, test and implementation of change, to ensure delivery in line with requirements and design.
- The ability to learn new technology concepts and apply this knowledge to the migrations you are working on.
- Be able to apply technical strategy in complex business contexts, using patterns, standards and guidance.
- Experience of translating technical concepts and issues so they can be understood by all stakeholders.
- Experience of maintaining relationships and coordinating with external stakeholders/contacts.
- Practical working knowledge of modern cloud-first architectures, and how to build applications to take advantage of the opportunities
