Job summary:
- Three Machine Learning Research Consultants to support the final development and deployment of advanced predictive models for ClimateIQ, an open-access AI climate risk platform
- Developed in collaboration with Google
- org and international partners, ClimateIQ delivers high-resolution, machine learningdriven forecasts and geospatial risk analytics to help cities and communities prepare for extreme weather and climate hazards
- Consultants will contribute to the tuning and optimization of deep learning architectures, specifically for our flood and atmospheric modeling productsFloodML and AtmoML, and lead deployment efforts using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI
- This engagement offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, environmental modeling, and public-interest technology, supporting a globally relevant tool for climate adaptation and resilience planning
- We anticipate this will require 30 hrs/week for a minimum of 1 month with potential for renewal
- Responsibilities Model Development & Optimization Enhance model architectures (CNN, ConvLSTM) for autoregressive spatiotemporal predictions Tune hyperparameters and refine autoregressive loop logic to improve accuracy and stability Conduct ablation studies, diagnostics, and performance benchmarking across model versions Deployment & Cloud Infrastructure Deploy validated models to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Vertex AI for training, serving, and prediction
