Process Safety Specialist
Location Pune kharadi
Looking for good stability minimum 5+ yrs in process safety.
We are looking for a highly skilled and safety-driven SHE Specialist (Process Safety Engineer) to support our manufacturing and production sites remotely from our Pune office. You will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating major accident hazards across capital projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze equipment overpressure and over-temperature scenarios
Identify and manage reaction hazards and chemical process risks
Define and implement preventive and mitigative safeguards for Major Accident Hazard (MAH) scenarios
Facilitate and lead HAZOP and other process hazard analysis (PHA) studies
Conduct Quantitative and Qualitative Risk Assessments including consequence modeling
Perform Vapor Cloud Explosion consequence and risk analysis using tools such as PHAST
Develop fire protection design requirements, including Fire & Gas Mapping for various process equipment
Support Capital Projects by preparing and implementing Project Risk Assessment and Management Plans (PRAMP)
Ensure safety is integrated into design through safety-in-design reviews, MOC (Management of Change), and facility siting
Collaborate with risk owners, project managers, and safety teams to ensure effective process safety management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety, or related field
5+ years of relevant experience in process safety or SHE roles in a manufacturing/chemical/process industry
Strong knowledge of hazard identification techniques and risk analysis methodologies (LOPA, FTA, ETA, etc.)
Proficient in PHAST or similar software for consequence and dispersion modeling
Understanding of international safety codes and standards (e.g. NFPA, API, IEC)
Experience with Capital Projects and Process Design Risk Reviews
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred:
Certification in Process Safety / Functional Safety (e.g., TUV, CCPS)
Experience with digital safety tools and data-driven risk management
Exposure to fire protection engineering and equipment protection strategies
