Job Description
Job Title: Ship Broker (Dry Bulk Chartering)
Experience: 3+ Years
Locations: Mumbai
Compensation: 10 LPA to 13 LPA
Main Qualifications:
- Minimum Graduate-level degree.
- Strong command of English (spoken and written).
- 3+ years of direct experience in dry bulk chartering/operations, with proven ability to begin work immediately without formal training.
- Existing relationships or rapport with dry bulk chartering clients are beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and close chartering opportunities matching vessels with suitable cargoes for owners, operators, and charterers.
- Maintain continuous communication and coordination with shipowners, charterers, and brokers.
- Draft and review charter parties and fixture notes.
- Resolve operational or commercial issues post-fixture.
- Coordinate with shipping agents, post-fixture desks, and all relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in local and international business development to grow the companys market presence.
- Conduct market research and fact-finding to identify potential new clients and cargoes.
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Sound understanding of dry bulk markets and operations.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Proven track record of relationship management with clients, operators, and charterers.
- Global networking abilities and an understanding of international shipping dynamics.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset for evaluating freight rates, trends, and trade routes.
- Excellent team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proactive attitude and ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
