Job Description
Job Purpose:
To supervise, coordinate, and execute all on-site civil works related to road construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Execution & Supervision
- Execute and monitor all civil works related to road construction, including earthwork, subgrade, GSB, WMM, DBM, BC, and shoulder works.
- Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, project specifications, and standards (MORTH / IRC).
- Supervise and coordinate with subcontractors, machinery operators, and site labor for daily work execution.
- Check line, level, and thickness of each layer before and after compaction.
- Verify quality of materials (aggregates, bitumen, etc.) and ensure correct usage at site.
2. Planning & Coordination
- Plan daily and weekly work schedules in coordination with the project planning team.
- Coordinate with the design, quality, and survey teams for alignment, grade, and cross-section verification.
- Support the Project Manager in resource planning, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
3. Quality Assurance & Control
- Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and testing protocols for road layers and materials.
- Maintain test records and inspection reports in coordination with the Quality Engineer.
- Implement corrective measures for any deviations or defects observed during execution.
4. Measurement & Billing Support
- Assist in quantity calculation and joint measurement with the client / consultant.
- Prepare daily progress reports, DPRs, and record material consumption.
- Support billing engineers with field data for interim and final billing.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all safety protocols, traffic management, and environmental norms are followed on site.
- Conduct toolbox talks and promote safety awareness among site workers.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
