Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of complex mainframe solutions to meet business requirements.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of applications using IBM Mainframe Utilities VSAM JCL and Cobol.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members to foster skill development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other systems.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices to maintain high-quality codebases.
- Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all mainframe applications and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful project completion within deadlines.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of IT initiatives to align with organizational goals.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment to promote innovation and creativity.
Qualifications
- Possess extensive experience in IBM Mainframe Utilities demonstrating a deep understanding of their functionalities.
- Have a strong background in VSAM and JCL with the ability to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Cobol programming with a proven track record of successful project implementations.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Show strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Display a proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
- Hold a bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on mainframe technologies.
