Role Overview
The Oracle Retail Data Migration Analyst will be responsible for analysing, validating, and coordinating data migration activities for the JL 360 programme. The role focuses on purchase order and inventory data migration from legacy systems into Oracle Retail applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with programme standards. This position does not involve ETL development but requires strong analytical and functional expertise to support the migration lifecycle.
I. Key Responsibilities
1. Data Analysis & Mapping
- Collaborate with business SMEs and Oracle functional consultants to understand purchase order and inventory data structures.
- Define and maintain data mapping specifications between legacy systems and Oracle Retail (RMS, RPM, ReSA).
- Document transformation rules and business validations for Oracle Data Conversion Tool processing.
2. Migration Coordination
- Work with ETL development teams to ensure extraction and transformation align with mapping specifications.
- Validate data loaded into Oracle Object Storage before processing by Oracle Retail Conversion (ORC) tools.
- Track migration progress and resolve data-related issues during mock runs and cutover.
3. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Support SIT and UAT by preparing test scenarios, validating migrated data, and reconciling purchase orders and inventory balances.
- Perform root cause analysis for data discrepancies and coordinate fixes with ETL and functional teams.
4. Governance & Reporting
- Provide regular status updates on migration readiness and defect resolution.
- Ensure compliance with JL 360 programme standards and audit requirements.
II. Required Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Retail modules (RMS, RPM, ReSA) and their data models.
- Experience in data migration projects, particularly for purchase orders and inventory.
- Ability to interpret and validate data mapping and transformation logic.
- Familiarity with Oracle Data Conversion Tool and Oracle Object Storage concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
III. Desirable Skills
- Understanding of retail business processes and data flows.
- Exposure to large-scale transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of reconciliation techniques and data quality frameworks.
