Job Description
- As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at HARMAN Automotive, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in CAD design and development for automotive audio systems. You will work with a passionate team on cutting-edge technology platforms to enhance the driving experience. Here's what you will be responsible for: - Assist in 3D/2D CAD design using CATIA V5, focusing on surfacing, sheet metal, and plastic components. - Support the design and development of car audio systems, ensuring compliance with automotive standards. - Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers). - Work on technical documentation, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), tolerance analysis, and BOM (Bill of Materials) creation. - Support in design optimization for cost, weight, and manufacturability. To be successful in this role, you should: - Be currently enrolled in or have completed a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. - Have a basic understanding of CAD software (Catia V5), Mechanical design principles, including materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T. - Proficiency in CATIA V5, including surfacing, sheet metal design, and assemblies will be an advantage. - Demonstrate good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Understand DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly). - Possess strong communication and teamwork skills. - Have the ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment. Nice to have: - Strong technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
