Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Cobol, JCL, SQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues and bugs
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications using Cobol, JCL
- Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe technologies.
- Design, implement, and optimize SQL queries and database structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software.
- Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe and SQL-related issues.
- Document processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
- Automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
- Ensure codes/documents are well-documented and maintainable.
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Perform database administration tasks, including backups, restores, and performance tuning.
- Ensure data integrity and security.
- Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to meet data requirements.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6+ years' experience with increasing responsibilities and scope using Mainframe + Teradata tools and practices.
- Develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe technologies.
- Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective technical solutions.
- Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software.
- Monitor and improve system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe-related issues.
- Document processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
- Develop coding standard and code-reviews.
- Manage code deployments.
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
- Documenting application changes and developing updates.
- Ability to provide and implement technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Ability to participate in discussions with all levels of the organization and provide balanced information of an idea or communication of an issue regardless of written or verbal.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
