Job Description

JD:

AIX and Storage Field Engineer installs, configures, and maintains IBM's AIX operating system, enterprise storage systems, and associated hardware

Key Responsibilities

AIX System Administration:

Install, configure, and manage AIX operating systems, including patching, upgrades, and maintaining multi-server environments.

Storage Management:

Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise storage systems, including SANs, and manage storage allocation and data provisioning.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

Implement and manage solutions like PowerHA for high availability and develop strategies for data backup and recovery.

Performance Monitoring & Tuning:

Monitor system and storage performance, conduct root cause analysis for bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maximize uptime.

Virtualization:

Manage AIX environments using LPARs, WPARs, and PowerVM technologies for resource optimization.

Security:

Implement and manage security measures, ensure compliance with security standards, and apply system patches to maintain a secure infrastructure.

Field Support:

Provide on-site technical support for installations, configurations, and troubleshooting of AIX and storage systems at client locations.

Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and incident reports.

Collaboration:

Work with peer teams, project managers, and business leaders to ensure infrastructure solutions meet project objectives and business requirements.
