Job Description
- As a Lead Data Engineer in the Data & AI Platform Organization at Visa, you will play a pivotal role in developing applications and solutions that handle data processing in real-time and batch, impacting the business positively. You will be part of a dynamic team that thrives in a challenging environment with high volume and velocity, creating robust and scalable solutions using an open-source tech stack, Big Data, Java, and more. Key Responsibilities: - Translate business requirements and source system understanding into technical solutions - Work closely with business partners to clarify requirements - Design solutions in terms of components, modules, and algorithms - Develop, document, and implement new programs and subprograms - Create technical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance - Write unit tests covering known use cases and integrate test frameworks - Refactor existing solutions for reusability and scalability - Collaborate with operations for deployment and take ownership of production code deployment - Work with cross-functional teams to build and launch applications for revenue or operational purposes - Develop coding and design best practices and adapt quickly to new application knowledge Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 7+ years with an Advanced degree or 4 years with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications: - Masters or bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline - At least 12+ years of software development experience, especially in data-centric initiatives - Minimum 6+ years of experience with Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Hive, Kafka, GO Lang - Exposure to Real-Time data processing and Cloud tech stack like GCP, AWS, or Azure - Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java and Python - Experience with CI/CD processes, version control, and bug tracking tools - Handling large data volumes in low latency and batch modes - Automation of job execution, validation, and comparison of data files in a Hadoop environment - Leadership experience and strong communication skills - Quick learner, self-starter with attention to detail and depth,
