Job Title: Java Backend Developer SDE II / SDE III

About the Role:
We are looking for passionate Java Backend Developers (SDE II / SDE III) to join our high-performing engineering team at a leading Travel & Leisure technology company. You will be responsible for building scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems that power next-generation travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to build high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
- Ensure application performance, reliability, and security at scale.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Contribute to technical documentation and promote engineering excellence within the team.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher) and Spring Boot / Spring Framework.
- Experience in Microservices Architecture and RESTful API development.
- Proficient with RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools.
- Hands-on experience with message queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
Preferred Background:
- Experience in Travel, Leisure, or E-commerce platforms is a strong plus.
- Exposure to scalable, high-traffic distributed systems.
- Understanding of caching, load balancing, and performance optimization.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivated with a passion for technology and learning new tools.
Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
