Job Description Python(Primary) & Perl (Secondary) Developer
Project: BlackRock
Location: Gurugram / Mumbai (Client Location)
Type: Full-Time (Permanent)
Shift Timing: 11:00 AM 8:00 PM (4 Days WFO)
Role Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python programming, a good understanding of legacy PERL scripts, and solid knowledge of database concepts. This role involves modernizing legacy systems, working with stored procedures, and contributing to automation initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python.
- Understand and help in converting existing PERL scripts to Python (with or without modification).
- Analyze and interpret Sybase database structures and SQL pointers in both PERL and Python code.
- Work with database concepts, including complex joins, filters, and programmatic controls.
- Modify and optimize stored procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with the DB development team to support ongoing projects and automation efforts.
- Use tools like Ansible to automate tasks (a plus, not mandatory).
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python programming.
- Working knowledge or understanding of PERL scripting.
- Experience with Sybase or similar RDBMS and SQL query optimization.
- Strong understanding of SQL joins, filtering, and control structures.
- Ability to read, understand, and modify stored procedures.
- Exposure to Ansible or other automation tools (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
