Job Description
Position Purpose:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of web and mobile applications through requirement analysis, test planning, execution, and defect tracking. The candidate will collaborate closely with developers and product team to identify bugs, document issues, and verify fixes. This role requires strong knowledge of SDLC/STLC, along with experience in an Agile/Scrum environment

Broad Responsibilities:
The Software Engineer (Testing) is responsible for supporting the software test requirements. He/she will execute and report on planned tests, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing products, assist development with replicating and debugging problems as needed.
Role & Responsibilities
- The Software Engineer (Testing) is responsible for supporting the enhancement of testability and conducting hands-on testing of the product.
- Acts as a quality assurer of the products developed by the programmers to ensure a seamless user experience and take ownership of releasing a flawless product that has been rigorously tested using benchmark testing standards. Define test procedures and create comprehensive test strategies, test cases, and test cycles based on quality benchmarks while also creating the estimates for time and effort needed for testing the product.
- Assists in reviewing the product performance in the UAT environment and prepare summary reports for the Project Managers and Tech Leads to plug in issues and resolve bugs in a timely manner so as to meet the deadlines
- Is involved in conducting tests that could hamper the overall working of the software and would affect user experience and release the feature / product only once all the quality metrics are met and the bugs are cleared.
- Ensures all bugs that are put on hold in the interest of time are put in the backlog pool to be resolved later.
- Supports the review of test cases and documentation across all projects to ensure accuracy, compliance and completeness
- Performs detailed research on best practices of quality assurance testing in the banking industry and set test quality benchmarks to define rigorous testing strategies.
- Assists team members towards bringing in mobile automation and similar quality improvement / innovation techniques while also course correcting on any issues that arise during audits.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- B. Tech/B. E. in Computer Science or Electronics, or similar related field, from an institute of repute
- Typically, 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in a QA role (Manual Testing), with a preference for certifications in relevant areas of ITIL/IT-Lean/Six-Sigma etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:
- Understanding of STLC, QA methodology, technical quality processes and Software development processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exposure to programming languages (Java); with good understanding and experience in API Testing or integration
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
- Experience in testing complex, multi-threaded, and multi-component products
- Extensive experience with various types of testing including unit, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, usability and end-to-end testing
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask with ease is essential to the success of this position
Information Security Requirements
- Awareness and adherence to Information security guidelines, typically including but not limited to ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and SOC 2 compliance requirements
