About Position:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our Product Engineering team. This role involves managing and optimizing database systems, ensuring performance, integrity, and security, and contributing to automation and scalability efforts.

What You'll Do:
- As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our database systems, ensuring their performance, integrity, and security.
- Monitor and maintain database performance, integrity, and security.
- Perform root cause analysis, tuning, and troubleshooting for performance issues.
- Conduct regular health checks and generate performance evaluation reports.
- Manage database migrations and upgrades for improved scalability.
- Automate routine maintenance tasks including DML, DDL, and replication.
- Provide secure data access for audits, investigations, and reporting.
- Prototype and implement scalable database solutions.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are effective.
Expertise You'll Bring:
- We expect candidates to bring deep technical expertise and hands-on experience in managing complex database environments.
- 10+ years of experience with PostgreSQL including tuning, backup/recovery, scaling, and migration.
- Familiarity with AWS RDS and GCP CloudSQL.
- Understanding of high availability solutions for MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Ability to evaluate and prototype NewSQL solutions for large-scale use cases.
- Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Advanced command-line skills in UNIX/Linux environments.
- Experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of table-level fragmentation and index rebuilding.
- Expertise in database parameter tuning and monitoring tools.
