Job Description
Role:
- Design and development of automation projects, especially in the form of transforming traditional manufacturing processes to Robotics in Heavy Manufacturing Industry.
- Transforming users requirements to a workable concept and further conversion of a finalized concept to reality, which detailed design, preparation of RFP, bid-tabs, procurement, implementation, and trials.
- Effectively co-ordinate with users, visit project site/ shop floor to collect relevant information.
- Visit project sites/ sub-vendors facilities to conduct Proof-of-concepts/inspections/ FATs/ trials.
- Commissioning, training, preparation of operational and maintenance manual for hand-over.
- Communication and co-ordination across all stakeholders involving various departments, functions, vendors and sub-contractors for activities mentioned above.
Mandatory Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical and structural design
- Concept design, 3D modelling and Drawing using Solidedge or any reputed CAD platforms
- Basic idea of structural FEA simulation using NX or similar softwares
- Knowledge on design and development of special purpose machines, Jigs & fixtures
- Knowledge of different types of welding and other fabrication processes
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, Innovative mindset, time management and project planning / execution skills and basics of estimation and costing
Preferable skills
- Prior experience of handling/ commissioning of Robotics in manufacturing
- Application based know-how of various sensors used in Machine Vision, profile measurement, position, level, pressure, temperature etc
- Design Thinking
- Ability to Troubleshoot problem in challenging Shop-floor environment
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes like 3D printing, high speed welding etc.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Vendor development and coordination with vendors for technical assessment & development including legal aspects like IP protection etc.
- Understanding of GD& and know-how on material standards and standard mechanical Components
