Position DevOps/Release Engineer
Experience 7+ years
Location Mohali (Chandigarh)
Core Duties/Responsibilities
* Architecting and developing a high- performance, highly scalable CI/CD infrastructure along with managing all software source code, branching & merging, configuration management, and build & deployment processes for multiple environments.
* Collaborates with different application and project team(s) to define design and automate scenarios and scripts in alignment with business and system requirements.
* Allocates and assigns tasks to team members, monitors teamwork for quality and completeness and provides feedback to the team.
* Coordinate build schedules between multiple development teams, quality assurance & testing, DBAs, network, and security operations while developing and improving build communication channels.
* Hands-on knowledge of IaC and configuration management tools such as Terraform/Packer, Ansible/Chef/Puppet etc.
* Implement containerized solution using Docker, Docker Compose, Helm and Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure computing, Azure app service, Azure functions, Azure Container Service (ACS/AKS)
* Strong Networking Skills: VPN, VNet, Subnet, Route tables, Load Balancer, Application Gateway.
* Strong knowledge of Azure services such as Kubernetes Services, Azure Subscription, Azure resource groups, ARM templates, Azure DevOps agent pools, Azure container registry, Azure active directory, Azure service accounts, Azure service principal, Azure key vaults, APIM instance, Azure Blob Storage, Azure traffic manager, Azure logging monitoring and auditing services.
* Good knowledge of Azure automation skills to develop a rapid-fire, push-button environment (infrastructure) provisioning and de-provisioning capability in Microsoft Azure required
* Strong knowledge of build and release pipelines (Azure pipelines).
* Practical experience of using version control systems (Git preferred).
* Deep knowledge of Azure CLI, PowerShell, and other scripting tools.
* Good understanding of security review and should know about DDOS and OWASP.
* Knowledge of DevOps metrics, quality gates and awareness of the importance of
strong and controlled processes as code moves through environments.
* Deep knowledge of securing data at rest and in transit by using encryption, Azure
confidential computing, and SSL/TLS communications.
* Knowledge of hosting high available and scalable applications.
Qualifications/Your Background
* Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, or Business discipline or
equivalent experience.
* 7+ years of experience in software development and release with extensive exposure to the
Microsoft application development technology stack, with special emphasis on and
experience with Azure DevOps (Visual Studio Team Services) and related extensions and
build/release tools in the Azure gallery required.
* Must have knowledge of SDLC and Agile (Scrum and SAFe) methodologies required.
* Must have strong communication skills and ability to explain protocol and processes with
team and management. Solid team player.
* Strong experience with Microsoft-based infrastructures, windows administration, and
Azure.
* Good to have knowledge of these technologies and frameworks(not mandatory): Microsoft
.Net framework, ASP.Net (MVC), C#, TSQL, Entity Framework, Common web technologies
such as HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, REST, and SOAP and Web 2.0 framework is required
(jQuery, Node.js, Angular.js, etc.)
* Knowledge of databases such as SQL, MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch and Redis.
* Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
* Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services.
* Experience in software development and infrastructure development is a plus.
* Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
* Knowledge of latest industry trends, IT ops and industry best practices, and able to identify
the ones we should implement.
* Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as when
needed.
* Good to have Microsoft Azure certifications.
