Walk in Interview - Sales Officer (Chennai)
Role & responsibilities:
Position Overview:
We are looking for a performance-driven Sales Officer (General Trade) to manage and expand our packaged drinking water business in Chennai. The role involves achieving sales targets, strengthening distributor and retailer networks, enhancing product visibility, and ensuring strong market penetration across the city.
Sales & Market Growth:
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets in the Chennai market.
- Drive both primary and secondary sales through distributors, wholesalers, and retail outlets.
- Expand retail coverage across stores, supermarkets, and convenience outlets.
Market Development & Visibility:
- Ensure effective product placement, brand visibility, and availability at outlets.
- Execute trade promotions, schemes, and consumer sampling activities.
- Explore new business opportunities in urban and semi-urban zones of Chennai.
Distributor & Channel Management:
- Manage and support distributors in the assigned territory.
- Oversee order booking, delivery coordination, and inventory control.
- Implement trade schemes and resolve distributor/retailer concerns.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with key retailers and trade partners.
- Address service issues, complaints, and feedback promptly.
- Develop loyalty and retention initiatives to strengthen trade partnerships.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Monitor competitor products, pricing strategies, and promotions within Chennai.
- Collect consumer and retailer insights for market development strategies.
- Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports on sales performance, coverage, and collections.
Collections & Compliance:
- Ensure timely collection of payments from distributors/retailers.
- Maintain accurate sales, stock, and payment records.
- Adhere to company policies, processes, and reporting standards.
Preferred candidate profile:
- Minimum: 12th Pass / Graduate preferred.
- 1 years of experience in FMCG / Beverages / Packaged Drinking Water sales.
- Prior exposure to Chennai general trade market preferred.
