Role Overview
We are seeking a senior SAP Basis Administrator to provide end-to-end platform support during night shifts (10 PM IST 7 AM IST) with rotational weekend on-call coverage. The role focuses on production stability, proactive monitoring, incident/problem/change management, and root cause analysis across SAP landscapes. You will manage HANA database administration, system refreshes, backups/restores/snapshots, and support performance/load testing and HANA performance data collection. The position also involves analyzing SAP EarlyWatch Reports to drive improvements and supporting applications hosted on SAP Private Cloud, including patching pre/post tasks and certificate rotation. Exposure to S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Fiori, MDG, PO, BOBJ, BODS, Solution Manager, basic PCS clustering, and cloud platforms (GCP or similar) is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience
- Willingness and ability to work Night Shift (10 PM IST 7 AM IST) and rotational weekend on-call
- Strong SAP HANA Database Administration experience
- Production support expertise: monitoring, incident & problem management, RCA, and change management
- Experience performing SAP system refreshes (Non-Prod) including preparation, execution, and post-steps
- Proficiency with DB backups, restores, snapshots, and VM restores
- Experience analyzing SAP EarlyWatch (EWA) reports and driving actions
- Support for performance/load testing and HANA performance metrics collection
- Exposure to S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Fiori, MDG, PO, BOBJ, BODS, and SAP Solution Manager
- Experience supporting applications on SAP Private Cloud; patching pre/post activities and certificate rotation
- Basic PCS cluster operations exposure
- Cloud knowledge (GCP or any major cloud)
Responsibilities
- Provide night-shift SAP Basis support (10 PM IST 7 AM IST) with rotational weekend on-call coverage
- Perform production monitoring, manage incidents/problems, conduct RCAs, and execute change/maintenance activities
- Plan and execute SAP system monitoring for MEC/QEC/YEC and ad-hoc monitoring for specific incidents
- Coordinate and assist with Non-Prod system refreshes, including preparation, execution, and post-activities
- Support performance/load test runs and HANA performance data collection; monitor system behavior and metrics during tests
- Handle DB backup/restore/snapshot requests (planned and ad-hoc) and perform VM restores
- Administer SAP HANA and assist teams in troubleshooting user and system issues; follow up on SLO-breached tickets
- Create, manage, and monitor SAP OSS messages, ensuring timely resolution
- Analyze SAP EarlyWatch Reports to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; recommend actions
- Collaborate with on-site counterparts and client teams; support strategic planning based on analysis
- Support applications hosted on SAP Private Cloud, including patching pre/post activities and certificate rotations
- Apply basic PCS cluster operations as needed
