Job Description
- The role of a Reporter at Truthfools is crucial in contributing to the mission of bringing joy, entertainment, and truth to viewers through a live streaming platform that is now venturing into the news domain. With a significant percentage of news being fake, there is a pressing need to take accountability and strive towards making the world a better place. As a passionate Reporter, you will be involved in the creative cycle of news stories by conducting investigations and writing compelling and unbiased scoops. Your responsibilities will include collecting, verifying, and thoroughly analyzing newsworthy information, assembling findings into coherent stories, writing and delivering news stories from the readers" perspective, and publishing or broadcasting these stories. You will receive assignments, investigate news leads and tips, adhere to journalism ethics and codes, contact and interview sources, and stay updated with current events by studying papers and attending relevant events. It is important to maintain notes and audio recordings, collaborate with team members such as reporters, chief editors, and producers, and maintain a balanced approach during interviews between constructive criticism and appreciation. The ideal candidate for this role should have proven working experience as a Reporter, a portfolio of published articles or newscasts, and the ability to gather, write, and edit news effectively. A broad knowledge of headlines, computer proficiency in MS Office, digital editing, web search, and databases, excellent communication, lobbying, and active listening skills, as well as integrity and morality, are essential requirements. A BS degree in journalism or mass communications is also preferred.
