Job Description
Role Objective:
To oversee and manage litigation matters across the designated zone by coordinating with external legal counsel, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of legal disputes and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Litigation Management:
- Monitor and manage all litigation cases (civil, criminal, consumer, labour, arbitration, etc.) in the zone.
- Prepare and review legal pleadings, affidavits, and other documents.
- Represent the company before courts and tribunals when required.
- Coordination with Stakeholders:
- Liaise with external counsels, law firms, and local advocates for case updates and strategies.
- Coordinate with internal departments (sales, operations, HR, etc.) to gather case facts, evidence, and documents.
- Case Tracking & Reporting:
- Maintain litigation trackers, MIS reports, and dashboards for management review.
- Analyse trends in litigations and suggest preventive legal measures.
- Compliance & Advisory:
- Ensure compliance with court directions, legal deadlines, and regulatory obligations.
- Provide legal advice to business functions on matters with litigation risk potential.
- Documentation & Risk Mitigation:
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping related to all ongoing and potential litigations.
- Contribute to drafting SOPs and policies to mitigate litigation risks.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of civil, criminal, labour, and commercial laws
- Experience in court proceedings and legal drafting
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Stakeholder management across levels
- High attention to detail and time management
- Tech-savvy with exposure to litigation management tools (preferred)
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualification: LLB / LLM from a recognized university
- Industry Preference: Banking / NBFC
