Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Jewellery CAD Designer to create high-precision 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) models of jewellery pieces. The ideal candidate will be proficient in CAD software (such as Rhino, MatrixGold, JewelCAD, or ZBrush), understand jewellery manufacturing processes, and be able to translate design concepts and sketches into production-ready digital files.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models of rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and other jewellery items based on hand sketches or design briefs.
- Work closely with manual designers, merchandisers, and production teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
- Prepare CAD files for rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and casting.
- Make design modifications based on feedback from the design team or manufacturing.
- Ensure technical correctness including stone placement, setting styles, thickness, weights, and tolerances.
- Maintain an organized library of design files and backups.
- Collaborate on new collections or product lines and contribute ideas for design improvement and innovation.
- Ensure timely completion of CAD files for sample development and mass production.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CAD designer in the jewellery industry .
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as:
- Rhino / RhinoGold
- Matrix / MatrixGold
- JewelCAD
- ZBrush (for organic modelling)
- KeyShot (for rendering) optional
- Solid understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes, including casting, setting, and polishing.
- Familiarity with different types of jewellery styles (traditional, modern, bridal, fine, fashion, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and technical specifications.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
