Job Description
- As a GCP-qualified cloud engineer for a large global investment bank, your role will involve working on the FIC (fixed income and currencies) cloud migrations under Project Cirrus. You will be responsible for building, migrating, and deploying applications to GCP, utilizing skills in Terraform module coding, Google infrastructure, and cloud-native services such as GCE, GKE, CloudSQL/Postgres, logging, and monitoring. Additionally, you will be expected to possess good written and spoken English for effective knowledge transfer to existing development and support teams. Your extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and Docker will be crucial for collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications. **Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines on GCP. - Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using tools like Terraform and Ansible. - Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for high availability and scalability. - Containerize applications using Docker and manage container orchestration. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and security. - Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. - Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions. - Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in DevOps and cloud technologies. **Mandatory Skills:** - 6 to 9 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in GCP. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Docker. - Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible. - Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. - Knowledge of networking, security, and database management. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. **Nice-to-Have Skills:** - Strong communication and collaboration skills. The project involves developing cloud-based compliance archive products for a large global investment bank to meet internal and external regulatory requirements. The team works in an agile development setup to transition from project to product management, providing robust compliance archive solutions for the bank's future needs. Your role as a GCP-qualified cloud engineer will be fundamental in ensuring the success of Project Cirrus and the bank's cloud migrations.,
