Job Description

Aspire Systems is currently on the look-out for In-house Legal counsel with expertise in Contract Management and related compliances.


Work Location: Chennai (Siruseri - SIPCOT IT Park)

Qualification: LLB/LLM or any equivalent degree related to Law

Required Experience : 8 to 13 Years

Designation: Assistant Manager


Roles & Responsibilities:


1. Contract Lifecycle Management: Ensure to review/draft contracts in compliance with Aspires guidelines & preferred standards Lead negotiations with the customers and counterparts Analyze and align SOWs with MSAs to secure favorable terms & Map SOWs with appropriate sequencing Maintain oversight of contract execution, renewals, amendments, and terminations


2. Business Communication: Provide clear and concise legal guidance to stakeholders (without legal jargons/merely providing extracts of the contractual clauses/legal provisions). Maintain strong stakeholder collaboration


3. Documentation & Record Management: Organize legal files, maintain version control, and ensure accuracy in contract and compliance records for easy retrieval and reference Document - approvals & deviations in the legal repository


4. Training: Complete assigned training within timelines. Stay updated on statutory/regulatory changes and participate in team knowledge-sharing initiatives.


5. Responsiveness: Ensure timely completion of contract reviews, legal approvals Timely compliance filings, including CR & BIA Respond promptly to legal queries, calls, and emails. Prioritize tasks effectively to optimize workload management and minimize escalations.


6. Strategic Legal Advice: Identify legal risks, provide actionable recommendations, and advise business teams on their obligations and contract risks.


7. Process Improvement :Lead in drafting, reviewing, and implementing internal legal policies/guidelines; and take it up for closure Identify process gaps and suggest improvements


8. Audit Support: Lead internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation and providing timely responses.


9. Mentorship: Support the development of junior team members by providing guidance on the processes, preferred standards, contract management, and compliance practices.


10. Crisis Management : Assist in handling legal crises, including contract disputes, investigations for timely resolution Provide support in the absence of team members by managing ongoing legal matters, ensuring seamless workflow Proactive planning to ensure the team is prepared for unexpected challenges


Key Requirements:


In-House Legal Experience: Previous experience in an in-house legal department or similar role is preferred.

Contract Management & Compliance: Proficiency in managing contracts and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Attention to Detail & Communication: Strong attention to detail, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Multitasking & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
