Job Description
The platform engineer is responsible for managing our Windows systems infrastructure across the enterprise to ensure our services are reliable, secure, scalable and performant. The role involves effectively working with other cross-functional teams within the organization to meet business objectives.
What youll do:
- Design, deploy and manage Windows systems infrastructure and associated services i.e Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS services etc.
- Develop and automate system processes to reduce manual intervention and minimize operational overhead. Utilize scripting and programming languages to automate tasks
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or similar technologies
- Actively participate in incident management processes, quickly identifying and resolving issues. Conduct root cause analysis to prevent future incidents
- Analyze and optimize system performance using monitoring and logging tools. Work to improve response times and decrease downtime.
- Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to enhance security, reliability and scalability
- Monitor infrastructure and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing across teams
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
What youll bring:
- 10+ years of experience leveraging automation to manage Windows systems and infrastructure
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
- Strong technical experience implementing, managing and supporting windows systems infrastructure
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Powershell)
- Able to work flexible hours as required by business priorities; Available on a 24x7x365 basis when needed for production impacting incidents or key customer events.
