About the Role:
Rakuten India is seeking a skilled Android Developer to join their dynamic team in Bangalore. This role focuses on developing and maintaining cutting-edge entertainment applications such as Rakuten Music, Rakuten Tickets, and Rakuten Magazine. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating high-quality mobile solutions for a large user base, eager to learn new technologies, and willing to go the extra mile to deliver exceptional products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features.
- Integrate with external data sources and APIs.
- Conduct unit testing for robustness, usability, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
- Continuously research and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- 5 to 8 Yrs of Strong experience in Android native development using Kotlin and Java.
- Deep understanding of Android SDK and the latest Android technologies.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and APIs.
- Familiarity with modern Android Architecture Components (View Model, Live Data, Room, etc.).
- Knowledge of Google Play Store guidelines and the app submission process.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform development.
- Proficiency in modern Android UI toolkits, especially Jetpack Compose.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good communication, and teamwork skills. A strong desire to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving development landscapes.
- Bonus: Experience working on entertainment or media applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with media playback libraries like Media3.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud services and backend integration.
- Prior involvement in large-scale, high-traffic Android applications.
