Job Description
Staff Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Staff Software Engineer to lead our team in building cutting-edge, enterprise-level backend services. This role is perfect for a passionate engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and is dedicated to creating highly scalable, cloud-native solutions that drive digital transformation.
You will act as a subject matter expert, leading a dynamic team and contributing hands-on to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from high-level design to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead a team of software engineers, ensuring the team's work is held to the highest industry standards for design and coding. Youll also be accountable for your own work and the team's timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Design & Development: Translate high-level product requirements into solid, module-level software designs. You'll build and enhance scalable cloud services that can handle high throughput and low latency.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to your team, conducting performance reviews and ensuring a motivated and collaborative environment.
- Innovation & Improvement: Stay current with rapidly advancing cloud-native technologies, bringing innovative ideas to the table. You will continuously improve existing solutions by focusing on performance and quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product and QA teams, stakeholders, and peers to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: Proven experience as a technical leader or senior engineer, with a track record of at least 3 large enterprise-level implementations.
- Technical Skills:
- Backend Development: Deep expertise in building backend services with strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns (SOLID/GRASP), and data structures.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one of the following: Java, Python, .NET, or Go.
- Cloud Native: Hands-on experience building API-based cloud services on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose and implement effective software designs.
- Agile Experience: A history of working in an Agile environment and a commitment to collaborative, iterative development.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and management.
Supervisory Responsibility
- You will be supervising a small team of software engineers and reporting to an Engineering Manager or higher.
