Job Description
An Operations Project Management Supervisor leads projects within a company's operational functions, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, similar to an Operations Project Manager, but with the added responsibility of directly supervising the project management team and processes. This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing operational projects, managing resources, improving processes, and ensuring smooth execution to achieve strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of operational projects, ensuring they align with the organization's strategy and business objectives.
Team Supervision:
Directly manages and directs the activities of project team members, including project managers and other operational staff.
Resource Management:
Allocates and manages resources, including budget, labor, and materials, to ensure efficient project delivery.
Process Improvement:
Identifies and implements improvements to operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Quality Assurance:
Ensures projects meet established quality standards and customer expectations, working with quality control teams.
Risk Management:
Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks that could impact project timelines, budgets, or quality.
Stakeholder Communication:
Reports on project progress to stakeholders, including Heads of Strategy & Planning and Operations Leadership, and manages communication with internal and external partners.
Project Performance Monitoring:
Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project performance, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication abilities.
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
A strategic and business-driven approach to problem-solving.
A solid understanding of business operations, supply chain, and process improvement.
Often requires a business degree and relevant project management experience.
