Job Description
Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior SAP BASIS Consultant to manage and support our SAP landscape. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge in SAP system administration across various components including ERP, CRM, PI, GRC, and Solution Manager. Experience with Oracle databases and ChaRM configuration.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP BASIS Administration
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain SAP systems (ECC, CRM, PI/PO, GRC, Solution Manager).
- Manage SAP system refreshes, client copies, and transport management.
- Handle kernel upgrades, support package/application of SAP Notes/TCIs.
- Perform system performance tuning and load balancing across distributed environments.
SAP Solution Manager (SolMan)
- Configure and maintain ChaRM (Change Request Management) workflows and related transports.
- Set up Technical Monitoring, System Landscape Management (LMDB), and Solution Documentation.
- Integration of SolMan with SAP systems using SLD/RFCs.
SAP NetWeaver Java Stack:
- Administer and troubleshoot SAP Java systems such as PI/PO, Portal, GRC, and SLD.
- Perform Java stack patching, kernel upgrades, and deploying SCA files using SUM, NWDS, and JSPM tools.
- Manage Java system parameters (configtool/Visual Admin) and instance profiles.
SAP Security & GRC
- Coordinate with the security team for user administration and role management.
Database Administration (Oracle)
- Manage Oracle DB for SAP including backup/restore, patching, and performance optimization.
- Perform database tuning, space management, and high-availability configuration (RAC/Data Guard optional).
- Run AWR, ADDM, and explain plan reports for proactive performance analysis.
Monitoring & Maintenance
- Monitor system logs (SM21, ST22, ST03N), jobs (SM37), queues (SMQ1/SMQ2), and background processes.
- Manage Early Watch Alerts (EWA), TMS alerts, and DB growth projections.
- Coordinate with SAP for OSS notes and incident resolutions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of SAP BASIS experience in large and complex landscapes.
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC, CRM, PI/PO, GRC, and Solution Manager (7.2 preferred).
- Expert in ChaRM configuration and end-to-end change management process.
- In-depth Oracle database administration for SAP (Oracle 12c/19c preferred).
- Proficient in OS-level administration (Windows/UNIX/Linux).
- Understanding of networking, firewalls, and SAProuter configurations.
- Experience with SAP HANA and/or Sybase is a plus.
Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):
- SAP Certified Technology Associate System Administration (SAP BASIS)
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to support after-hours and on-call rotations as required.
