Job Description

Job Summary:

Sankara Eye Foundation is seeking a dedicated and proactive Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee daily library operations, manage resources, and support patrons with research and information needs in a healthcare-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Curate and manage the librarys collection by acquiring new materials, cataloging items, and discarding outdated or damaged resources.
Establish and enforce library policies and procedures, including those related to borrowing and access.
Support users with research assistance, reference inquiries, and general information needs.
Provide guidance and training on how to use digital resources, databases, and other online tools.
Oversee library personnel, including recruitment, training, and staff scheduling.
Build partnerships with community organizations to raise awareness of library services and enhance outreach.
Manage the librarys financial operations, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.
Ensure the library environment remains clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors.

Educational Qualifications:

Undergraduate: Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Postgraduate: Masters degree in any field (preferred)

Key Skills:

Resource management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with digital research tools and databases
Leadership and team management
Organizational and budgeting abilities
