Job Description
- Age range: 4550 years
- 20 to 25 years of proven experience in library management or academic resource centers
- Strong command of MS Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Undergraduate degree in any discipline
- Postgraduate degree (preferred)
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Library Science is mandatory
- Oversee the efficient functioning and organization of the library's physical and digital collections, including books, journals, and e-resources.
- Establish and maintain library protocols and systems to enhance user accessibility and resource circulation.
- Provide personalized support to faculty, students, and staff in accessing, navigating, and utilizing library resources.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all library operations including lending activity and inventory updates.
- Regularly evaluate and refresh library holdings to align with evolving academic and research demands.
- Deliver orientation programs and hands-on training for users on library services, catalog systems, and digital tools.
- Ensure the safeguarding and appropriate archival of rare or delicate materials.
- Manage acquisition processes, including classification and cataloging of incoming resources.
- Collaborate closely with academic departments to align resources with curriculum and research initiatives.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in library and information science, especially digital and online platforms.
- Extensive knowledge of library operations and resource management
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Cataloging and classification expertise
