Role Summary
AAPNA Infotech is seeking an experienced .NET Desktop Applications Developer with strong hands-on experience in development and production support of desktop applications using .NET (WinForms/WPF), WCF services and SQL Server. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full application lifecycle from design and development to troubleshooting and post-production support and will collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, product owners and global engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain desktop applications using .NET technologies (WinForms and/or WPF) following best practices for modularity, reusability, and maintainability.
- Design, implement, and consume WCF services for inter-process and distributed communication; maintain backward compatibility and secure endpoints.
- Develop and optimize SQL Server database schemas, stored procedures, views, and queries; perform data modeling and ensure data integrity.
- Provide L2/L3 production support triage incidents, diagnose root causes, apply fixes or workarounds, and coordinate rollbacks and releases when needed.
- Troubleshoot application issues (crashes, memory leaks, performance bottlenecks), analyze logs, and implement fixes or performance tuning.
- Create and maintain technical documentation: design specs, runbooks, deployment guides, and post-incident reports.
- Collaborate with QA and Automation teams to ensure testability; support automation for desktop apps where applicable.
- Integrate applications into CI/CD workflows and participate in release management using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
- Work with source control (Git) and build tools (MSBuild, NuGet); manage dependencies and versioning.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies; provide estimates, report progress, and highlight technical risks.
- Provide mentoring and knowledge transfer to junior developers and support engineers.
- Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory requirements are met for domain-specific applications.
- Communicate clearly with cross-functional stakeholders and provide timely status and incident updates.
Required (Must-have) Skills & Experience
- 3+ years professional experience building and supporting .NET desktop applications (WinForms and/or WPF).
- Strong C# expertise and object-oriented design principles.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing and consuming WCF services (bindings, behaviors, security).
- Solid experience with SQL Server: T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, indexing, and data validation.
- Proven experience in production support: incident management, debugging, root-cause analysis, and hotfix deployment.
- Familiar with version control (Git) and build/dependency management (MSBuild, NuGet).
- Experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, work items) or similar CI/CD and ALM tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills memory profiling, exception analysis, log analysis, and performance diagnostics.
- Good understanding of networking basics, serialization, threading, and IPC patterns relevant to desktop apps.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in the evening shift (US shift/EST hours) with global teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under pressure.
