Job Description
Position Overview
As a Backend SDE-III at Primathon, you will be a senior individual contributor driving the development of complex backend systems. Youll take on challenging technical problems, contribute to architecture and design, and set high standards for code quality and performance. While youll mentor junior engineers, your focus will remain on deep technical execution rather than people management.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale backend applications using Node.js with a focus on high performance and reliability.
- Take ownership of end-to-end modules, ensuring timely delivery with high-quality code.
- Participate in system design and architecture discussions, providing inputs on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to SDE-I and SDE-II engineers.
- Debug and resolve complex technical issues across the backend stack.
- Implement and advocate for engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and bring improvements to the team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 57 years of backend development experience with Node.js.
- Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
- Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with distributed systems and microservices design.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows.
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mentor juniors while remaining hands-on as an IC.
