Job Description
Role & responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with expertise in Azure, DBT, Snowflake, DataStage, and Netezza to design, build, and optimize large-scale data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing data modeling best practices, and ensuring data quality and governance across complex data environments.
Preferred candidate profile :
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using DataStage, DBT, and Azure Data Services.
Implement data integration solutions to ingest, transform, and load data into Snowflake and Netezza environments.
Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions.
Optimize queries, workflows, and data models to enhance performance and cost efficiency. Implement data governance, data quality, and security standards across all pipelines.
Migrate and modernize legacy data systems into cloud-based (Azure + Snowflake) solutions.
Develop Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) and maintain technical documentation for data flows.
Support production data pipelines by troubleshooting issues, ensuring SLA adherence, and maintaining system reliability.
Work with cross-functional teams to enable self-service analytics through curated datasets and semantic models.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5 - 8 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
Strong expertise in Azure Data Platform (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks preferred).
Hands-on experience with DBT for data transformation and modeling.
Proficiency in Snowflake for cloud-based data warehousing and query optimization.
Strong background in ETL development using IBM DataStage.
Experience with Netezza for data warehouse management and performance tuning.
Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, optimization, data transformations).
Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and metadata management.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work in agile teams.
Good to Have
Experience with Python or Scala for data engineering tasks.
Exposure to cloud migration projects (on-premises to Azure/Snowflake).
Knowledge of Power BI/Tableau for BI reporting integration.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps) for data deployments
