Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
FactSet Digital Solutions Group, a subsidiary of FactSet Research Systems Inc. is looking for a talented Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining custom solutions for internal and external FactSet clients. This candidate must be able to troubleshoot issues and work with the appropriate teams to resolve issues according to Service Level Agreements. Must have thorough knowledge of Software Engineering principles and best practices. A wide range of discretion and judgment is expected of this candidate to work independently to plan and accomplish goals. This individual must also possess a high degree of creativity and a strong talent for problem solving to conquer complex technical obstacles.
Key responsibilities for this accomplished developer will include but are not limited to the following:
- Design, code and test new client solutions and enhancements to existing products and solutions
- Ensuring that deployed products are properly maintained throughout their lifecycle
- Use JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js and other related web technologies to develop client and server - side solutions
- Must be able to develop front end client solutions as well as server - side solutions, such as APIs, to support front end projects
- Participate in design and code reviews of multiple projects across teams
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor s Degree (B.tech) or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 3 to 5 yrs of related work experience
- Strong understanding of web technologies
- Experience with iOS and/or Android mobile app development
- Proven desire to learn and contribute to the successful completion of team goals and projects
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills in order to interact with business analysts, peers and management
- Able to work well as an individual contributor and within a team
- Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with finance and financial market data is a plus
- Experience with multithreaded, caching and high availability software development is a plus
