Job Description
JOB TITLE: Technical Specialist - Infrastructure
REPORTS TO: Infrastructure Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
Technical Specialist - Infrastructure ensure the security, stability, and
efficiency of the organization's IT infrastructure by proactively monitoring security
events, managing VDI environments, and resolving incidents across endpoints and
servers. This role is critical in supporting business continuity, minimizing downtime,
and maintaining a secure and well-managed digital environment. 4+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, or security monitoring.
Monitor application and network security events using tools such as CrowdStrike and
Cisco Meraki.
Manage and support VDI environments using NerdIO and Azure Virtual Desktop,
including provisioning, troubleshooting, and user access.
Handle incident detection, triage, and resolution for endpoints and infrastructure
components.
Ensure uptime and system health by leveraging Datadog, Uptime Robot, and
Cloudflare monitoring and alerting.
Manage and apply updates and patches across VDI endpoints and Windows/Linux
servers in coordination with patch cycles.
Administer and optimize Azure-based resources, including virtual machines, storage,
and networking configurations.
Maintain documentation for VDI configurations, incident response, and operational
procedures.
Familiarity with Azure services, including virtual machines, security groups, and
resource management.
Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and secure
configurations.
Knowledge of automation/scripting tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for endpoint
management.
Exposure to SIEM tools or centralized log management platforms.
Strong analytical , problem-solving and communication skills.
Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours support as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage & support Cisco Meraki networking infrastructure (firewalls, switches, access
points).
Administer and maintain NerdIO environments for virtual desktop infrastructure
(VDI).
Monitor and respond to endpoint security alerts using CrowdStrike.
Set up and maintain uptime monitoring with Uptime Robot and performance
monitoring with Datadog.
Manage Cloudflare configurations including DNS, caching, and security rules.
Implement and troubleshoot logging and observability solutions with Splunk.
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
Administer services in Microsoft Azure including VMs, networking, identity (AAD),
and storage.
