Job Title: Rubrik Scripting Specialist
Department: IT Infrastructure Backup & Recovery
Reports To: Manager Technology (IT)
Location: [Remote]
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Rubrik Scripting Specialist will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing automation scripts for Rubrik backup and restore operations across on-premises and cloud environments. This role ensures operational efficiency, compliance, and integration with enterprise systems through advanced scripting and API utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Development:
- Design and implement scripts to automate Rubrik backup, restore, and reporting workflows.
- Build custom workflows for policy enforcement, compliance checks, and alerting.
- API Integration:
- Utilize Rubrik REST APIs and SDKs to integrate with external platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, monitoring tools, Azure, AWS).
- Develop automation for hybrid cloud backup operations.
- Utilize GraphQL for Rubrik automation.
- Operational Support:
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing scripts for performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with backup engineers, security, and cloud teams to ensure best practices.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain detailed documentation of scripts, workflows, and processes.
- Ensure adherence to security and least privilege principles.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell and Python scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Rubrik APIs (REST API, SDKs).
- Solid understanding of Rubik backup and recovery concepts in enterprise and hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with JSON, YAML, and API authentication (OAuth, tokens).
- Experience with automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Rubrik Certified Professional (RCP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, and Entra ID (Azure AD) RBAC permissions.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
