Job Description
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate from a premier institute or, Medicine, or related field
Certification: CPC or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director Medical Coding to lead and evolve our medical coding operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep healthcare domain expertise, proven leadership in coding operations, and a strong academic pedigree. You will be instrumental in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our medical coding practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale medical coding operations, ensuring adherence to compliance and accuracy standards
- Build and manage high-performing coding teams across specialties (IPDRG, ED, HCC, etc.)
- Drive strategic initiatives for automation, process improvement, and coder productivity
- Partner with clinical, quality, and training teams to build a robust coder upskilling framework
- Interface with senior stakeholders and clients to ensure SLAs and performance metrics are met
- Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and coding standards
Desired Profile
- 12-15 years of experience in healthcare delivery, revenue cycle management, or medical coding leadership
- Strong academic background graduate/postgraduate from a reputed institute or preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification preferred
- Excellent understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding guidelines
- Proven experience in leading teams, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional projects
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Candidates:
- Those with a blend of healthcare operations and medical coding leadership experience
- Exposure to global healthcare standards and client-facing roles
- From reputed hospitals, healthcare BPOs, or global coding organizations.
