For our Go-To-Market Services for Marketing team as part of the Customer & Partner unit within the Corporate Processes & Information Technology (CPIT) Organization we are looking for an Application Engineer/Developer for Marketing with the mindset for highest level of service for our internal customers and support to take SAP s Marketing Technology Stack to the next level as part of our joined transformation journey to achieve SAP s goals. In your role as Application Engineer/Developer for Marketing you will be responsible for:
Own the end-to-end design, development, and operation of customer-facing and internal applications/services, from architecture and coding to deployment and maintenance.
Build integrations with internal systems and third party APIs (including AI/LLM services) and deliver high quality features using CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with product, design, and data partners to refine requirements, break down work, and ship iterative, measurable value.
Instrument applications for observability, performance, and reliability; troubleshoot production issues, drive root cause analysis, and continuously improve.
Prototype and productionize AI- and agentic AI powered capabilities, establishing best practices for safety, evaluation, and monitoring.
WHAT YOU BRING
7 - 12 years building backend or full stack applications (e.g., TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or C#) with clean, maintainable code.
Strong API design and integration skills: REST/GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth2/OIDC, and secure data handling.
Cloud proficiency (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes) or serverless, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
Testing discipline: unit/integration/e2e, contract testing, test automation, and thoughtful code reviews.
Observability and reliability: logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards/alerting, SLOs, and on call experience.
Data fluency: relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL), NoSQL/caching (e.g., DynamoDB/MongoDB/Redis), schema design, and migrations.
Frontend capability for full stack work: modern SPA frameworks (e.g., React/Vue/Svelte) and TypeScript.
Security mindset: secrets management, least privilege, OWASP Top 10, privacy-by-design, and basic threat modeling.
AI and agentic AI exposure or strong learning attitude: building with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic), vector search and RAG, tool-use/agents (e.g., LangChain/LlamaIndex), prompt design/evaluation, and safety/guardrails or a demonstrable capacity to learn quickly via self-driven projects.
Excellent communication and documentation, with the ability to translate business goals into technical plans and influence stakeholder
