We are seeking an experienced IBM DB2 Database Administrator with strong expertise in Business Process Management (BPM) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting DB2 databases while also collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to integrate and enhance BPM solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain IBM DB2 databases across development, test, and production environments.
- Monitor database performance, implement tuning, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and security administration in compliance with company policies.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide root cause analysis for incidents.
- Collaborate with BPM teams to design, deploy, and optimize IBM BPM processes and integrations.
- Support application developers by creating and tuning queries, stored procedures, triggers, and schema changes.
- Implement automation for routine administrative tasks where possible.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA (LUW / z/OS, depending on environment).
- Strong knowledge of DB2 architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery (HADR, TSA, Q Replication, or similar technologies).
- Proficiency in SQL scripting, shell scripting, and automation tools.
- Working knowledge of IBM BPM (Business Process Manager), including process modeling, deployment, and optimization.
- Experience integrating BPM workflows with DB2 databases.
- Familiarity with middleware and integration tools supporting BPM.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based DB2 deployments (IBM Cloud, AWS, or Azure).
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with other databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
- IBM certifications in DB2 Database Administration and/or IBM BPM.
