Job Description
This role is responsible for leading and managing the design coordination process across all disciplines of a project. The Design Coordination Head will ensure seamless communication and alignment between stakeholders, consultants, and internal teams. The position requires a seasoned professional with proven expertise in Architecture, Interiors, Structural, MEPF, ELV, and BIM, capable of identifying potential design- related delays and driving strategic solutions for smooth project completion.
Role & responsibilities
- Lead and oversee multidisciplinary design coordination (Architecture, Interiors, Structural, MEPF, ELV, BIM) across multiple projects.
- Act as the single point of contact for all design-related queries, ensuring clarity and alignment amongn consultants, project teams, and management.
- Provide strategic inputs based on experience to avoid conflicts, design discrepancies, and execution delays.
- Review and monitor design deliverables against project schedules, flagging deviations and
- recommending corrective actions.
- Conduct regular design coordination meetings and workshops with consultants, contractors, and
- internal teams to review progress, highlight risks, and drive timely decision-making.
- Ensure all design drawings and documents (DBR, Tender Drawings, BOQs, Specifications) are
- thoroughly reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with client requirements.
- Proactively identify clashes between Architectural, Structural, and MEPF/ELV services through
- coordinated drawing reviews and BIM models.
- Drive value engineering initiatives by suggesting cost-effective and execution-friendly alternatives without compromising quality.
- Ensure that all material approvals are coordinated in advance with the design team/consultants to avoid procurement delays.
- Generate and review RFIs (Requests for Information) with consultants to ensure clear, conflict-free designs for execution.
- Ensure contractors execute strictly as per approved drawings, specifications, and coordinated plans.
- Support project heads and management with periodic reports, MIS updates, and strategic
- recommendations for timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Facilitate project closeout by ensuring complete handover of coordinated drawings and documentation

Preferred candidate profile
- B.Arch / B.E. Civil or equivalent qualification. Postgraduate in Project Management preferred.
- 8 -12 years of relevant experience in Design Coordination for Commercial, Residential, Institutional, or Hospitality projects.
- Proven expertise in managing multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.
- Strong understanding of BIM workflows and its role in design coordination.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
