To provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical care to patients, coordinate with consultants and healthcare teams, and ensure smooth functioning of medical services in assigned units or departments
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care
Provide primary and emergency medical care to patients.
Conduct clinical assessments, take histories, and order diagnostic tests.
Initiate and monitor treatment plans under the guidance of consultants.
2. Coordination with Consultants & Multidisciplinary Teams
Support consultants during rounds and procedures.
Ensure timely updates and coordination across nursing, diagnostics, and pharmacy.
3. Documentation & Medical Records
Ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation in patient files and electronic health records (EHR).
Maintain medico-legal documentation, consent forms, and discharge summaries as per protocol.
4. Emergency Response
Respond promptly to emergency codes (Code Blue, Code Red, etc.).
Handle initial stabilization of critically ill or trauma patients.
5. Patient & Family Communication
Communicate clinical status, treatment plans, and updates to patients and families with empathy and clarity.
Address patient concerns and escalate when necessary.
6. Compliance & Clinical Governance
Follow infection control protocols, hand hygiene, and hospital SOPs.
Participate in audits, case discussions, and mortality/morbidity meetings.
7. Training & Development
Attend CME programs, skill-building sessions, and internal medical training.
Train interns or junior doctors if applicable.
