Job Description
Job Summary
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for end-to-end lifecycle management of the organizations IT assetsincluding hardware, software, and digital infrastructure. This role ensures accurate asset inventory, compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements, and optimal resource utilization to support business operations and long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Asset Lifecycle Management
- Manage IT assets from acquisition to retirement.
- Oversee issuance, recovery, restocking, and secure disposal of assets.
- Implement and refine lifecycle processes covering procurement, deployment, maintenance, and end-of-life.
- Ensure proper handling and physical security of all IT assets.
2. Inventory and Compliance
- Conduct regular hardware and software asset audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, vendor contracts, and licensing agreements.
- Maintain accurate databases of licenses, warranties, and service agreements.
3. Process and Policy Development
- Develop, document, and enforce asset management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Compliance teams to align asset management with business objectives.
- Drive automation and integration of asset tracking using ITSM tools (e.g., ManageEngine, Freshservice).
4. Reporting and Analytics
- Deliver reports on asset utilization, lifecycle status, and compliance metrics.
- Analyze asset data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management to support strategic planning.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with People Experience, Admin, and IT Engineering teams for asset distribution and replacement workflows.
- Coordinate with VP-level stakeholders for asset dispatch approvals and exceptions.
- Provide asset-related insights to support global service desk operations and monthly IT Operations reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management or IT Operations.
- Proficiency in ITSM tools (e.g., ManageEngine, Freshservice).
- Strong knowledge of software licensing, hardware tracking, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in IT Asset Management, ITIL, or related disciplines.
- Experience managing IT assets across global or multi-site operations.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and endpoint management tools (e.g., Jamf, Intune).
